1.  Viscoelastic materials and viscoelastic dampers

 The joint laboratory team developed and studied different types of viscoelastic materials, including high energy dissipation viscoelastic materials and aging-resistance viscoelastic materials, and tested more than 200 viscoelastic materials with different formulations. Over the past 20 years, the performance tests of viscoelastic dampers under more than 20000 working conditions under different temperatures, frequencies, excitation amplitudes and thicknesses have been carried out. The developed viscoelastic dampers have excellent energy dissipation performance and fatigue performance. The relevant results are directly incorporated into the two national industry standards on seismic mitigation (JGJ297-2013) and (JG / T209-2012).

2. Viscoelastic damping structure

 The joint laboratory team conducted shaking table test and optimization test on the reinforced concrete structure with viscoelastic dampers. The mechanical models, dynamic collapse analysis methods and optimization design methods of building structures and long-span spatial grid structures with viscoelastic dampers are studied, and the relevant mechanical models and analysis methods are put forward.

 Viscoelastic dampers are added to real application projects such as Xi'an Fujin Jiayuan, Petroleum Hotel, Shanghai Chongming * * bridge and long-span power transmission line with length more than 1000 km, which are used to reduce structural seismic, wind vibration or mechanical vibration response, better solve engineering and technical problems and have created a lot of economic benefits.
