1. The Academic Committee of the China-Pakistan Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Smart Disaster Prevention of Major Infrastructures is the academic guidance organization of the laboratory.
2. The Academic Committee is composed of at least 6 outstanding experts at home and abroad. There shall be one Director and one Deputy director.
3. In principle, the members from Southeast University in the Academic Committee shall not exceed one-third of the total members.
4. The term of office of the Academic Committee is 5 years. Upon expiration, it can be reelected. But in principle, each experts shall not exceed 2 terms. More than 1/3 of the members shall be replaced each time.
5. The main responsibilities of the Academic Committee include:
1). Guide the laboratory to certify development objectives, discipline layout and research direction;
2). Examine and approve the guidelines for open topic funds and fund applications;
3). Review the research results of the laboratory;
4). Review the annual report of the laboratory;
5). Review and recommend major academic activities related to the laboratory;
6). Support the research work of the laboratory through lectures, exchange of staff and other forms.
6. Working methods of Academic Committee:
1). Hold more than one plenary meeting of the academic committee every year, and the actual number of people each time shall not be less than 2/3 of the total number;
2). The chairman of the academic committee may temporarily convene a meeting when necessary;
3). Keep close contact with the laboratory through email and other means.
7. When the Academic Committee needs to form a resolution, it shall vote on the basis of promoting democracy and full discussion, and the resolution shall be effective if it exceeds two-thirds of the votes.
8. The laboratory should provide convenience for the work of the Academic Committee and create conditions for the Academic Committee to understand the work of the laboratory in time.
9. In case of major academic decisions, the laboratory shall report to the Academic Committee for deliberation and seek the guidance of the Academic Committee.
10. Members of the Academic Committee should actively participate in various activities of the Academic Committee and support the work of the laboratory. For members who cannot regularly participate in the work of the Academic Committee and play their normal role for various reasons, the Laboratory Affairs Committee may exempt their membership of the Academic Committee after reporting to the Director of the Academic Committee for approval.
11. Due to work needs, the Laboratory Affairs Committee may report to the Director of the Academic Committee for approval and adjust the composition of the Academic Committee.
