Southeast University has undertaken more than 10 international scientific and technological cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology China in the field of disaster prevention and reduction. The cooperation project mainly focuses on the damage, catastrophe process of major engineering structures under multiple disasters such as earthquake, strong wind, fire and explosion, as well as the key scientific and technical problems in seismic isolation and metigation control and performance improvement of major engineering structures. Many scientific research achievements such as papers and authorized invention patents have been obtained under the support of the project. The research achievements have been highly praised by well-known scholars at home and abroad, and have been successfully applied to major projects such as high-rise buildings in Pakistan. The international cooperation achievements have won a second prize of National Technical Invention and a gold prize of Geneva International Invention Expo. For example, in cooperation with Prof. Abid Ali Shah in International Islamic University, Pakistan, the National key R & D plan, strategic international cooperation key special project “Technical R & D and application demonstration with cooperation for viscoelastic damping recovery and retrofit of post-earthquake buildings” is conducted, and the first seismic suppression and mitigation project in Pakistan is carried out in the Vison High School, Pakistan. It has made important contributions to promote the development of China-Pakistan friendship and disaster prevention and reduction. In cooperation with Professor Jinkoo Kim in Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, the corporation team has developed jointly developed new viscoelastic materials and viscoelastic damping technology, which have been successfully applied to the seismic suppression and disaster prevention project of Gusan High School, and have a great impact on the field of disaster prevention and reduction in south Korea. In cooperation with academician Imasiku Nyambe in University of Zambia, Chairman ER Sharad Chandra Mainali in Pacific earthquake engineering research center in United States, the Disaster Management Institute of the State Administration of Emergency, Mongolia, the research team have solved some bottlenecks in strong motion simulation and earthquake resistance and disaster prevention for the urgent needs of 2030 sustainable development goals of United Nations and development strategy of the "One belt and One road" countries. The influence of laboratory supporting organization has been further expanded in the field of international disaster prevention and reduction.
