In the past 5 years, Southeast University has held more than 1300 international academic conferences, bilateral and multilateral academic forums, including more than 20 academic conferences on disaster prevention and reduction. Together with the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC), the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (ISHMII), Southeast University has invited 200 scholars for visiting and exchange. The scholars are from international famous universities such as University of California at Berkeley, Purdue University, University of Cambridge, Imperial University of Science and Technology, and the “One Belt and One Road” countries. More than 100 visiting scholars have been sent out, and a good cooperative relationship with famous universities and research institutes has been established both at home and abroad. In the past five years, Prof. Zhao-Dong Xu, Prof. Zhong-Fan Chen, Prof. Tong Guo, Prof. Li Chen and Prof. Abid Ali Shah of the joint laboratory have made more than 30 conference reports at international academic conferences. The conferences, forums and match-making meetings held mainly focus on new theories, new problems, new challenges and new opportunities of major engineering structures, providing a platform for academia and engineering circles to display, exchange and share the latest research results and disseminate the latest ideas of the industry, and promote the development of relevant fields through international cooperation in discipline fields. It has greatly improved the intelligent disaster prevention capacity of major infrastructure and urban resilience. And greatly promoted the strategic cooperation between China and the "One Belt and One Road" countries. It has played a leading role in the key research areas of the joint laboratory, and promoted the positive interaction and coordinated development of the relevant scientific and technological innovation in the international disaster prevention and mitigation field, and promoted the academic influence of the laboratory supporting organization on the international community.
