A Tree of Structural Mechanics(or Advanced Structural Mechanics)
授课人:Seung Deog Kim
Most of students in the field of structural mechanics have being studying many kinds of theories during both the undergraduate and the postgraduate courses from fundamental to advanced theory, for example, structural mechanics, theory of elasticity, finite element method and so on. But unfortunately they have learned each subject separately and memorized in their mind separately. Therefore they sometimes feel difficulties to use the knowledge learned already in researches or projects which they meet first. That is because the whole knowledge has not been connected in their mind with correct understanding.
In this program, I am trying to make students a well-organized tree for structural mechanics which includes structural mechanics, theory of elasticity and finite element method based on the foundation of mathematics. The part one is ‘from Continuum Mechanics to Structural Mechanics’, and the part two is ‘Structural Mechanics to Finite Element Method’.
课程内容:
Part One : from Continuum Mechanics to Structural Mechanics
1、Vector and Tensor
2、Theory of Elasticity
3、Beams/Trusses
4、Plates
5、Variational Principles
6、Energy Methods
Part Two : Structural Mechanics to Finite Element Method
1、FEM(1) : Beams/Trusses
2、FEM(2) : Thick Shells of Revolution
3、FEM(3) : Thin Shells of Revolution
p.s. (1) It may be difficult to teach all subjects in 32 hours, so can be quitted after FEM(1) of the part two depending on the situation.
(2) The level of difficulty is higher than others, so most students in Korea want to take part in the course several times.
[Themes of short course for one or two hours]
1、Nonlinear Design of Soft Structures
2、Nonlinear Design of Hard Structures
3、Structural Instability Characteristics of Shallow Structures
4、Dynamic Instability of Shell like Structures
5、CMRS : Coupled Model by Rigid and Solid Bodies
6、Deployable Shelters
p.s: I am going to select the ones stated above depending on students’situation.
